FNCAA (Jira Automation)

About FNCAA (Jira Automation)
FNCAA or First Nations Community Access to Archives, is a programme managed by Museums of History NSW. The FNCAA project is aimed to enhance access to historical documents and archival materials that are culturally significant to New South Wales' First Nations peoples.
Overview
After our successful collaboration with the Museums of History NSW (MHNSW) team on developing the SAMSDI tools, we are now continuing with a new project to support the First Nations Community Access to Archives (FNCAA) programme. Kororo is honoured to be part of this project, which aims to optimise the FNCAA team's digital works efficiency in Jira and streamline their efforts.
A key part of our work involves enhancing the integration and data exchange between Jira and their custom API, named Axiell, to enable smoother and more automated processes.
As a back-end developer in this project, we created a reliable system that can parse CSV files into Jira tickets, enabling effective Jira issue creation and management in bulk.
In the product we developed, we also give the FNCAA team more control over their workflows configurations by creating user-friendly admin page using PayloadCMS. To support the flexibility and usability of this admin page, we developed several custom functions and Handlebars templates, allowing the user to have tailored configurations that suit the FNCAA team’s specific requirements.
Throughout the project, we emphasised the QA process. We carried out extensive testing to make sure Jira issues were created on the expected boards and moved through the specified workflows.
