ANMM (Website Rebuild)

Sea.museum presents complete information about The Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM) coming from visiting information, exhibition information, to the collection information. As the back-end developer for this website rebuilding project, Kororo was responsible for API development, database structure settings, admin page development, and data security.

The project began with Kororo receiving supporting documents, which included the new design in Figma, feature specifications, and more. We then perform high-level project planning, requirements analysis, and begin the development.

What’s exciting about this project is the two main technologies we indulge in, which are Meilisearch and Drupal.

Meilisearch is a search engine tool used for improving the searching ability through a website. Meilisearch brought us to the challenge of creating an advanced search feature, which allows visitors to search by filtering content types, searching by truncated phrases, and having search recommendations in the ANMM website.

Drupal is the content management system (CMS) which is used to allow admin and content editors to do their work. The admin page we were working on has a lot of features to be developed, coming from various components, various content types, to various roles with different access levels.

There is also a "What's On" feature that provides museum visiting recommendations. This feature allows users to fill in several fields such as 'who's visiting', 'what', and 'when' to get recommendations for visiting the Australian National Maritime Museum.
